Michael Aaron Jones

Welcome to my little corner of the web!  Here you can find information about me, and my career in  Theatre & Live Event Management, my current projects, download my resume and contact information.

Box Office / Stage Manager / Project Manager / Live Event Coordinator

I spent 20+ years working as a  professional Stage & Live Events Manager all over the country.   I’m a member of the Actors Equity Association and have worked on a variety of levels including 3 Tony Award-winning regional theatres. I have over 85 theatrical productions under my belt, including 19 Shakespeare productions. (see resume)

However, you’re just as likely to find me reading a comic book as you are a Shakespearean play.  I’m also a Trekkie and host a Star Trek Podcast called Hailing Frequencies Open where my friends and I discuss the past, present, and future of our favorite science fiction franchise.

My husband, Tim and I live in beautiful Bradenton Florida with our adorable chihuahua, Lola.  On any given day off you can find us making the most of our annual passes at Walt Disney World or Universal Studios, Orlando as avid theme park enthusiasts.

My Strengths

My top Gallup CliftonStrengths are:

ConsistencyI’m keenly aware of the need to treat people with equal respect.  I am a rule follower and the way I interact with the world reflects this.

DeveloperI  can recognize and cultivate the potential in others.   This makes me a good team leader and mentor.

Discipline. I enjoy routine and structure.

Harmony. I don’t enjoy conflict; rather, I seek areas of agreement and take great pleasure in mediating and resolving a conflict.

Analytical.   I search for reasons and causes. I have the ability to think about all the factors that might affect a situation.

My Personality Type

I love the Myers Briggs personality test.  I find that my type, ISTJ: The Logistician, is a pretty perfect fit for who I am and how I work.

ISTJ

  • Introvert (rather than extrovert),
  • Sensing (meaning I trust my senses more than my intuition)
  • Thinking (rather than feeling)
  • Judging (rather than simply perceiving)

The defining characteristics of ISTJs are integrity, practical logic and tireless dedication to duty.  We are the timekeepers.  We are the calm and steady hand at the wheel in many organizations.  Our practical and logical approach to any challenge makes us invaluable employees.  Famous Introverts include: Angela Merkel, George Washington, & HRH Elizabeth II in the real world and fictional characters such as Spock, Hermione Granger, & Sam the Eagle.
